Can someone explain me what exactly is so difficult with
starting the league? Every season the start gets delayed so
long that the league can't be finished in time before
christmas or summer. To the outside it looks like all you
need is to gather the participants, divide the divisions and
make a news post that it started. Typically the next news
item is then the schedule of the finals so it's not like a
ton of work goes to coverage or whatever. Unfortunately.
You'd think that after 10 seasons it's pretty much routine
and the same shit every time. Just wondering. :o

With NQR, we would typically have a meeting of the admins on
IRC to discuss proposed rule changes and the structure of
the season.
After we had decided on that stuff, someone (me) would have
to setup the website for the new season - that took maybe 3
hours at the most. Opening signups was then a matter of
pressing a button in the admin control panel.
It was a straightforward and quick process, but the thing
that took the time was actually getting the admins together
at one time to agree on stuff!

Everything worked well last season? Let's go with same
rules, but with tb3 instead of 5 maps since it's the spring
season (as planned)! Only thing left to do is to start the
signup! gogoo

I don't like to publicly criticize admins, but this is
ridiculous. If you can't do it properly, then don't do it at
all. I'm sure people would step up if there was no league in
sight. 4on4 scene is dying in its sleep waiting for you.

worse fucking post ive ever seen. remove the shit maps,
click the button! no one is playing as it is, so no point
trying to attract this alleged new blood. sad the decent
admins with passion are long gone, gaz and sassa.

I understand your frustration blAze but it's not just as
simple as that.
For this season, someone else started a 4on4 league
(clanwarz) when we were going to launch EQL, that led to a
discussion between admins whether to postpone EQL or to
launch and possibly ruin the other league.
The decision we went with was to wait a while and let the
polish league get going.
The problem with that however, was that I've been pretty
busy the past two months so I havn't had time to focus on
EQL and since Itsinen is going away it would be very bad to
launch a league without any dedicated "headadmin".
All I can say is that I have time now, and the season should
launch very soon.
And for Kalma, even tho you say that you "don't like to
publicly criticize admins". I would think twice about who I
accuse of "killing" the 4on4 scene.
I would be more than happy if someone else would show up and
take the responsibility, but tbh I don't see that happening.
I've tried to get out of EQL for the past 3 seasons to focus
more on QW.nu.
For the past seasons we've talked with a lot of people about
doing EQL work, but most of the time people give promises
and then disappear without a word, and then it all end up
back in the hands of a few solid people.

Thanks for the info. If you would have posted such info
during past two months it would have avoided much
frustration.
Chosen would likely have joined the polish league (despite
ping troubles), but as EQL was starting "soon" we chose not
to...

I didn't know I would be busy for two months two months
ago.
I thought I was going to school and would have a lot of time
for QW.

what exactly do you need work with zalon? i sure haven't
heard of anything, but i don't always keep my eyes open.. if
you tell me what, at least i can see what i can do :E
and i don't think the start of the polish league should've
inflicted with the decision of starting the league.. ppl are
really eager to start playing, and it's not really like it's
the same clans entering the polish league, as the ones who
will enter eql.. let's go! :E
