EQLadder info:

During the summer EQL will host a 4on4 ladder tournament for all interested clans in Europe. Other clans are welcome as well but the games will be played on European servers. And some quick facts and rules:
Matches will be best of 3 and one of the TB3 (dm2, dm3, e1m2) will always decide the outcome if the score is 1-1 after 2 maps.
If 2 of the TB3 maps have been played the remaining one will be decider.
If 2 custom maps have been played the clans will throw one map each. Random select will tell which clan throws first.
If 1 TB3 and 1 custom map have been played then random select will decide which of the 2 remaining TB3 maps will be decider.
The teams can play as many or as few games they like during the season.

Teams.
A team can hold any number of players as long as no player is registered for several teams.
A player cannot join a new team unless his old team has gone inactive, in which case he cant rejoin his old team if it is revived.
A player currently not in any team can join any team he likes.
New teams can join the ladder at any point during the season.

Versions and cheating.
Latest versions of ezquake and fodquake are allowed.
No cheating. This includes but is not limited to hacking, ghosting, dropping on purpose etc etc.
Denying to play a certain map is not allowed, if you dont like a certain map then dont agree to play in the first place. If you can't get an answer from these rules to you problems then read the EQL11 rules first and see if there is a solution, lots will be the same.

TB3 will decide playoff games as well but the clans can choose from the pool during the first 4 maps. Random select chooses which clan to start)

The maplist has atleast the following maps:
TB3
CMT1b-3-4
Schloss
Grim
e1m5, e1m6, e2m2, e2m7, e3m1, e3m2, e3m3, e3m6, e3m7

We will listen a short while to map suggestions. There are also some maps that most probably will be included that wasn't listed!

Good work - I've been wanting a summer ladder for those outside of Sweden that switch our computers on during summer ;)

You need to update the map selection rules to take episode maps into consideration... anyone with a brain can work out that "custom" actually means "non-tb3", but this is QW, never underestimate the drama that can come from unclear rules :)

Also need to edit the versions and cheating section, as it appears twice.

Not that excited about this, the difference with NQR 2 was that the random decider could come from quite a few maps not just tb3. That gave weaker teams an incentive to play the better ones. Like JAMS we played all the division 1 teams like Zetor and KOFF and HF etc repeatedly, as we definitely had chances to win if we could avoid a big 3 decider. Without that, you won't have weaker teams challenging the stronger ones nearly so often, or at all.

Also, I like CMT2 the best of the CMT maps, why is it always left out?

Telly: weaker clans still have a chance at scoring points vs better clans since they choose their own map. I dont think that a weaker clan should win the decider just because it is a random map. I dont agree that tb3 decider will hinder weaker clans from playing stronger ones.

Also, cmt2 is not left out just yet. I reckon u suggested it to us now so we will take it into consideration.

Map pool looks really good. Never played Schloss or Grim myself, but I'm sure they're decent maps. most of those episode maps are good as well.

Only map I miss, is e1m3.

And yet it's still infinitely more suitable than most of the 9 bullshit episode maps thrown in out of some ridiculous sense of nostalgia instead of actually considering decent maps for the pool.

Let the whine begin.

We will most likely include cmt2 and cmt5b. The episodes are there because of nostalgia ofc but also because it is actually possible to have fun while playing 4on4 on them. Since the ladder is meant to be fun as well as challenging we can have a wide variety of maps for the clans to choose from. The goal with the ladder isnt really to crown the "best" 4on4 clan but rather raise the activity a little during the summer and let you guys play qw on some more maps than just tb3.
