Besides the unexciting decider, what a thrilling game. One can only wonder how far SD could go if they had a bit more professional attitude about working on their weaknesses (kenya) and a bit more stable active core lineup.

Yeah what a performance from SD. Have they even played for a week? :D Atleast they havent played much. And that linup is just changing all the time. They would have beaten SR quite easilly with some kenya pracs :) Well maybe spring EQL is tb3 and you can show your talent again.

Indeed great performance from SD when keeping in mind that bps' computer burned up 15 mins before the game so he had to replace it with another one, goblin was disappeared, and this lineup has hardly even played together this season. With all that in mind, this was better than anyone could have expected. m0lle playing solidly, lakso basically owning and bps taking the carrier flag as usual. With mawe as the wildcard, who can own someone in SNG with only a boomstick, get a pack and then own a map for himself =) great games guys, was entertaining to watch, everything but cmt4. I guess cmt1b wasn't that fun either, but was an upset that SD actually were in lead in the first half of the game which is amazing since, as everyone knows, cmt1b isn't really SD's strong map!

Great games, sad that Kenya gets to decide the outcome but that's what we signed up for! very ggs

I think that E1M2 was the best part of this game and the hottest action ive seen in a while (i dont spec much so ive probably missed a lot of hotness). Control changed back and forth like it should do and then some really nice quadruns by SD to secure the map. wp

radzioh: I don't think any constellation of players from our lineup would beat SR on cmt maps, so no. And last night they didn't play because of this:
goblin: puking his guts out due to hangover
razor: long term illness and high fever

Weak play buy us and impressive play by SD. Suddendeath plays so much difference then F and TVS its hard to adapt sometimes :)

If para just didn't mute me all those games it would have been a lot easier. Like when the ring guy trapped me at sng and I bored 3 rockets in him he got my pack and got a free pass to red taking over the map, while para was at red and had rl quad + red and he went to water instead.

Great move indeed :))

I was under impression thet SR were a bit down with their top shape of late. In fact, I hadn't seen so many bores, missed moves in a div0 clash for a long time. Probably the high stakes of the game played their role. All in all, I hope SR will come back in shape for the finals or we will see a smooth win by tvs. I'm sure they can do it - tvs are still the team to bit and even though SR whooped their butts in last two encounters, they still are underdogs. But that should serve them well :)

Great recognition to SD for those games. What would've happended if they had practiced more thoroughly???? Too bad they dont do that for they have great individual skills!. Great, great games!

P.S. Kenya deciders really break my balls :E

Too bad I missed all these games apart from the CMT4 which I stopped watching pretty fast. Really well done SD, better than expected!

I also think that Zero belongs to the highest tier. Imo theres 5 players in div1 that stands out from the rest: Milton, Xantom, Zero, Paradoks and Nitram.

Mhm I'm not sure I'd pick lacsap over bps/mawe though. bps usually plays solidly, but mawe on fire is a thrill to watch. But they are all great players... a bit sad that mawe doesn't play more than he currently plays.

If you want to extend the list to 6 players then i would add murdoc before bps and lacsap. Sure they are great players but i think murdoc is a few steps ahead.

Then i would start thinking about razor before mawe would be in the discussion.

Imo murdoc is already at div0 standard while the other guys here are close behind him.

Milton is div-1 when taking an overall view (skill on all maps, teamplay, duel, consistency at the top). Plus the stats back this up in terms of the fact that he averages over 90fpm playing against div1 clans whereas nobody else in any division can even reach 80.

One thing that helps milton to that high frag average must be his ability to focus and concentrate even after the game is over.

Like when you have played 6 minutes and notice that you most likely will win whatever you do. Many players, including myself, tend to play sloppy, drop packs, try to pwn the whole nmy team at ra/mega on dm2 etc etc and still get 60-80 frags. Milton on the other hand stays focused as hell and manages to get 120+ frags on these ocasions.

Sure he gets a lot of frags versus the best teams but it is those focused rapings of less skilled clans that earns him the really high frag counts.

Im not trying to downplay his greatness here but just check out those games. Staying focused and concentrated is a skill as well.

Well the format was tb3+2 kenyas. We felt pretty cofident on kenya maps, that perhaps didn't focus as much on the tb3 maps. We can play alot stronger there. Also if it was a TB3 only but BO5, I feel confident we would have won it anyway.

Felt hard to say that without taking something away from SD, cause they really played strong yesterday.

Why is that? *curious* You lost bo3 tb3, so what makes you think you would do so much better in bo5? I know Slackers didn't reach their top level in this game, but neither did SD.

I think the point he is making is that if it was a tb3 tourney, SR wouldn't have wasted time playing kenya maps / discussing strategy, and would have developed better routine on tb3. Whereas SD wouldn't really have increased their tb3 prac in such a case. Plus a general confidence that even at 1-2 down he'd back his clan to win a further 2 tb3 maps.

Anyway, fairly impressive from SD given the issues they had to face with certain players in the buildup to this game. If they start praccing a bit more seriously they could be a threat in EQL:Pro.

I can see your point HT, but I don't really think that's the explanation. Just like SR could've pracced tb3 more, SD could've pracced more on the whole.

Just out of curiousity I did a check on the stats page and the last month SR has played 4 maps of cmt1, SD has played 2. SR has played 3 rounds of cmt4 and SD has played 4! Not that much difference?

Imo Paradoks is just a bit grumpy for losing in tb3 to SD :) But yes I can also agree on that if it was bo5 tb3 it might've been a quite different game.

We did the thing you should never do and I usually preach myself internally.. NEVER think you have won a match, before you have won it. That's exactly what we did here and playing like that opens up vulnerabilities which SD took advantage of.

And I think they actually did play as good as they could. It was kind of a combo.. we played too overconfident, thinking we won the game before we played it, and they hit their peak just on game day. That's what i believe closed the gap you would normally see in that matchup.
