Quite many has been suspicious for a while about a player showing up some time ago..

.. from nowhere to own division 3. Well as many guessed and some people even did know, it was a faker once again! This time we struggled to catch the player but always, sooner or later we catch them. Well in the end we found ip matches, client matches, setup matches for both qw and computer.

Since this is a bit bigger case than the earlier have been, because of the following player did fakenick in 3 clans we have decided we give a ban to this player from eql until we decide he has suffered his punishment. Whenever that is...

The clans he has played in will also get a piece of the cake because they have had great advantage of him playing with them. So all games played with the following player will have 1 point deducted. The biggest difference will most probably be that Machinerys last season division 3 win will be disqualified aswell.

The player is Shamoth/Predator/Sniegowy.

if he wrote the reason why did he fake, and ask forgiveness from the whole community, i wouldnt punish him.. Known as a faker is a big punishment already. At least he keeps qw alive :D

i dont see why players cant play in multiple skill level clans, to keep the activity up. If an active players like lets say ok98 wants to be in a low skilled div3 clan (like shamoth (Sniegowy)) has been in, then who cares. i think it would be completely fine. but the problem is these people using aliases. also i think you should let shamoth play in dc1 where he belongs, dont ban him period.

@gnd: Exactly, why have rules at all -- we could just run a tournament thats ... not a tournament at all.

The rules are stated from the beginning, and they are pretty clear about not being allowed to play for more than _one_ team. Accept it or don't play in the league, don't need many IQ points to understand that.

I think everyone was hoping this was not true since, atleast from my own experience, Shamoth seemed like a real sportsman before. I guess anyone can make bad decisions tho and I hope this wont affect the 3 clans too much.

I think the guy should be rewarded not punished. That is someone who must play a hell of a lot of quakeworld.

Just give him the option to stay in machinery or switch alliances to DC. After all he is not more skilled than division 2.

I know I am a faker so my opinions probably dont count anyway. Least you get the perspective from someone on the other side of the fence.

Is this definitely true? I noticed on QTV a few times that sniegowy changed nicks to shamoth, just thought he was using his cfg.

Sniegowy definitely is a fake, known that for sometime but if he is indeed shamoth then wp. Had a lot of people fooled ;x

Haha I am quite amazed how some people seem to think he shouldn't be punished because he brings activity to three clans. Well maybe we should welcome back players like ilf then as well? After all his aimbot made his clan a lot stronger and more competitiveness in the top is what we need, right?

So let's forget all about the rules and welcome all the cheaters back and then maybe we will have as many players in EQL as last season (BREAKING THE TREND, WE ARE NOT DECREASING ANYMORE OMG)!

Brilliant idea! Let teams participate in eql more than once, for example slackers could join div1 10 times, fom 8 times, sd 9 times etc. Same players with different nicks, for example murdoc1, murdoc2, murdoc3... This way we had already 27 teams in div1. And activity goes up!
And if for example sd7 would do bad they could just drop out of the league and continue with those teams 1-6 and 8-9 and it wouldn't affect as much if one team dropped.
Shamoth could also play in every team (in div1-div3), in case of some team wouldnt have 4 all the time.

No surprises here... But to be fair i think machinery was the best clan we played last eql (even without Sniegowy).

People started to glorify this guy calling him the 'polish milton'. But what else to expect? So called qw experts can't see the difference between a div2 player and a qlive player.

Kinda funny how naive the qw scene is :)

Faker/cheater what difference? true qw died around 2002. Back in the days noone used fakeshaft/big glowing granade model/ change models/ some i_drive /overhead nicks ....and other shit that kills the beuty of quakin......

Faking in an official game is a form of cheating. The difference is that cheating encompasses alot more than just fakenicking.

I agree that the game has changed alot and perhaps "true qw" died along the way. That does not, however, make it ok to fakenick in eql games.

hagge: predator never ever used mm3, he said he cant talk. And actually DC used to have a player Predator/Lanix/Lan some time ago. Sniegowy was never with us on voice for obvious reasons I guess

It's not really any of my business but I find it to be absolute bullshit that the clans didn't know about it. Yesterday you had both Sniegowy and Shamoth playing, how was that even possible? Obviously someone from the clan was fakenicking, as well as Shamoth playing.

The problem is that we dont know who and how many in each clan that knew about it. Perhaps only 1 or a few guys in one of the clans knew. But thats nothing we can prove.

he is too addicted to qw, it consumed his sense, he just wanted to play more 4on4 thats all. I wouldnt ban such an active player, 3 clan can be destroyed by this way. he faked only in div2, so the easy victory was not his motivation. Its just a computer game, be gentle mighty Admins of the quake world :)

#34, it wasnt a direct comparison, obviously. He's a good player who is on the same level as the top of his division, if he was winning games for the teams he fakenicked with people in here would react differently. I was just saying that you cant base activity as a reason for fakenicking in other teams, even if it was in the same division as the players normal skill level, but that can only be said about this season. He did fakenick for 3 other seasons in a lower division, this isnt acceptable.

There is no such an option to dont know who is who on the server if you have VIP admin on Aster servers. Funny how often you can spot some admin doing iplist not from spec mode , i guess some dont know output from these is broadcasted thru qtv , so quess what ...
