Looks like e1m2 is the map where the weaker clans have their chance, seen several close e1m2s between clans from formerly different divisions. Way to go Paras!

I think e1m2 requires the most survival skills and resource management, to be successful on, of all the big 3. It is easier to own a lesser skilled clan on a map like dm2 where armors and weapons are abundant and the map can quite easily be locked down. On dm3 it is also easy to win versus lesser skilled clans since the ones not controlling the ra side will need pretty good tp or individual skills to break into quad and take over ra. E1m2 lack weapons and armor to go around so even if you are in control of ya/gl the others can flood you out faster than you can regenerate and e1m2 flooding is easier to manage than on the other maps. imo

E1M2 is clearly the map where a good team effort is awarded more than individual skill. For me, e1m2 is the map that makes QW TDM really stand out amongst the crowd. I love DM3 as well, but never really figured out why a duel map like DM2 is so popular in 4on4 :D

Even dm3 was originally constructed as a duel map :P. In the beginning of 4on4 even dm5 and dm1 was played alot along with all kinds of obscure episode maps. I guess after a while it boiled down to a few "playable" maps as the skills and teamplay developed. Maps like dm5, e3m7 and e1m6 just dont work very well when players get more skilled. It is too easy to camp key areas and win.

I think dm2 is popular still because it got the "2 bases" structure and it is very clear what area your team has and what area the other team has. The concept of the map is easy and it can be executed by all clans as long as they play equal opponents. In low skill matches dm3 and e1m2 tends to be more messy and it shows that the players are more uncertain about what to do.

On very large maps it isnt as clear where to go and what to do in order to find and kill the enemy team. On dm2 you either attack water to try and take quad/tele or you attack low to try and take rls and take out rl enemies in order to avoid counterattacks on quad/tele :)

And dont forget the epic dmm3 4on4 matches on dm4 and dm6. Im glad we dont see that in tournaments anymore :P

more like what is a 4on4 map like dm2 doing in the duel-pool?? that should be a better question. For me I like it in duel also though cause of the tense CS :)
But it's almost too big for 2on2 even, you have to rocketjump to your enemies in order to not get bored by the distances..
4on4 is the best mode for dm2! Maybe 3on3
