EQL 20 season format

Disclaimer: more teams have signed up so the system will be changed before the season starts.

With the current number of teams I am leaning towards 1 division with A and B playoffs.

At the moment there are 11 teams signed for EQL 20 and splitting them up in two divisions just doesnt seem right in order to keep some activity in the QW scene. Therefore all clans will be placed in one large division this season as well.


Group stage
During the group stage all teams will face eachother once wich means that every team will have 10 group games. All group games are best of 3. At the end of the season the top 6 teams will reach A playoffs and the remaining 5 teams will reach B playoffs. All playoff games are best of 5.


A playoffs
The top 2 teams will qualify directly for the A playoff semifinals and teams 3-6 will qualify for the A playoff quarterfinals. The 1st placed team will meet the winner of 4vs5 and the 2nd placed team will meet the winner of 3vs6.


B playoffs
In the B playoffs the team ending up on 7th place will qualify for one of the semifinals while team 8 and 9 will meet in the other semifinal. Teams 10 and 11 will meet in a quarterfinal to decide the opponent for team 7 in the semifinal.


Possible changes
If 1-4 teams are to join before I close signups I will adjust the playoffs accordingly. I dont really see 16 or more teams signing up but in that case I will make 2 divisions and revise the playoffs.

Remember to tell your qw friends that there is a 4on4 season coming and that signups close on Sunday, Sept 6th.

I agree rio. For me its 8 teams minimum per division atleast.

I understand that some would like 2 divs.
Given the history of previous seasons tho, I see it as a big risk with some teams going inactive. That might ruin the experience for a lot of people. Especially the for the teams that are in the mid tier.

Please share your suggestion on how to divide the current teams into two divisions cosmos. Its not that easy.
