New faker caught!

Well this season it seems like they are flying around like butterflys or something...

... as there was one more caught tonight. In division 4 this time. The player used the nick Prow to play with and the realnick for this player is Ass / Del(itel). He will get the same punishment as Fisto got earlier this season, 1 season ban from now. Which means that he will be able to play the next time in EQL when the playoffs begins.

As in the earlier case here has also been some confessions made that it actually is him (actually we didn't even need it in either case). But because of (atleast some of the members in) -1 knowing who this player was when playing Nafianna B will get a WO against them and are into the finals in division 4.

Now as a reminder: The 4on4 timelimit is 04:00 on wed (thursday side) and the 2on2s must be played until 04:00 friday (saturday side). So go and frag now!!!

it is DEL's own fault that he faked and now they (3b) have to play with bagz instead or perhaps XN if he can get away from wow for 90min or so. how hard can it be. its not like the admins can let del play just because "3B are div2" with this other guy

so 3b are not killed if del is banned, they are just div2? well he can only blame himself for letting his "div1" teammates down. very interesting anyway since a lot of you guys have been whining about killing 3b when they infact are not killed but just gets a little bit worse...

Don't understand why Dels punishment should be any different from Fistos? Both did the same thing and they should get the same punishment too. And if I were VVD I would stfu on this page now as somebody already told him to, you are digging a REALLY BIG HOLE for yourself.

And just for information, if it's not breaking the rules to fake in the future you can catch me playing atleast 3 different div4-6 clans :)

Now to some small copies from the rules section for the BLIND people:
-Playing in more than one clan, or playing under someone else's name in another clan (mercing).

If any clan or player is caught doing any of the above they will be punished at the crew's discretion. This could be a warning, point’s deduction or a ban from EQL. (other offenses section, notice the last line too)

Some clips from Clan restrictions:
- ...A player can only play in 1 clan at the same time... And all players have to be approved by the admins before they can play any games at all.

Hm, the rules actualy say that its not allowed to fake. And one season ban isnt that hard to take. And its not killing a div1 team. You can still prac and you can still play in nqr? Getting banned from a leage that is as inactive as eql isnt that bad. Just keep on playing and be happy.

So, this decision hurts not del but rest of 3B clan also, since they most likelly will not have 4 ppl. One shoot, four frags?

Perhaps, better just disqualify -1 clan and warn but not ban del, this should prevent clans from facking more, right?

My logic being: "cheating" is generally done to gain an unfair advantage. -1, as a clan, cheated, but I think that del just broke the rules and I would not call him a cheater, just a rule-breaker. It is debatable of course.

I would support a ban for VVD and just a yellow card for del, except for the fact that it sets a dangerous precedent. Any clan that is struggling to get 4 players could just get a div1 pal to fakenick, and the semi-active div4 clan leader takes the hit. Tough call.

Actually, that sounds like a pretty reasonable punishment. It does appear to have been VVD's idea, and he's willing to take responsibility for his actions.

It has the additional benefit of not potentially killing an active div1 clan.

I have demos from group and 1/2 game. Ncr have different messages. 2nd game he had messages equal with anni's messages (not egnlish - mb de?).

And I have other examples when we win easy some team in pracs (+150 on all maps) and lose in official game -150 in 1 or 2 weeks with same lineups and ping.

Cheating is aimbot, wallhack, ghosting, speedcheat etc. But not facking. He is not a cheater. He played using self skill only.

It's not as simple as that.

It's a matter of deciding which does more damage to qw: Cheating without repercussions, or the suspension of a player for one season.

Warnings might work for things like shitacting, but this faking is so obviously and seriously against the rules. I don't understand why the clan doesn't get banned in these cases. :/ Anyway, good job EQL crew for catching another cheat.

Read the rules, obey the rules <--- as simple as that?

If you don't, you'll get punished <--- pretty easy to understand.

Lame excuses like: "Our team is gonna die if you do this" <--- Well maybe should have though of that before?

And about chosen faking: Did you get his real ip or the IP from the Qizmo he was connecting through? :P Just send me the IP on IRC and i will check on my servers if the player has been there, and what nick he used.

I'm amazed that -1 are trying to turn this around as if they are the victims.

VVD: a minor ping disadvantage in a fair league game has nothing to do with this. Trying to stir up a grudge match will accomplish nothing for you or your team, it just makes you look lame by avoiding the issue here.

Irvin: I agree that there should be a Russian admin in the next league. At this stage, rule-breaking in leagues by Russian clans seems to be a regular occurrence. Maybe a Russian admin will have better insight into the community and stop this.

SS: I agree with you... it is a shame to see a core player in an up and coming top team be banned for a season. I agree that it only hurts QW. It is a tough call for the admins to make. If it were my decision I would not ban the player.

I think the punishment for the fakers are appropriate, but also the clan needs some kind of penalty for using a faker when, as in this case, there is clear evidence of their knowledge of the situation. Not just a forfeit of that match...

This is the worst bullshit i have ever read. Give me those IPs and the name of the player you think was faking. Why would we need to fake vs you in the 5th map when we won the groupgame 2-1 and won the first 2 maps of the final?

Spectators accused both Mythic and Donut of being fakers in that game. Mythic is eriko and that was clearly stated on our lineup on the nqr site. Donut has always nicked Donut ever since 1998 when he played in Doomed with players like Fugitive and Shiva/Memil (Shiva might have only standinned with them but he knows who donut is)

Stop accusing us of using fakers now since that has never happenend

There was a fact of change IP before 5-th game vs CHOSEN. But we did not begin to shout about it.
Except for that there were many similar cases earlier with other commands.
Del did not play more than two years, now he has returned and has helped to make to us an excellent command. For last year 3B was the most active command in 4on4. And we have achieved good results.
But we cannot play further if will be ban :(

Ok guys, quakeworld dying, many players has left last 1-2 years, but delitel had come back and saving our team. And now we have a new team in 1st divison. If you will ban del - our team will dead.
We dont have another players instead of delitel.
(XN was gone to play WOW)

When our team was playing in div4, we had many cases when have been using fakers against us, but never complained.

Final vs chosen was going at our server, and chosen used some faker in last game, their player had rejoin with another ip. We had discussion about it, and did not do nothing. We just pushed ready and won this game.

Besides was many games in 4div, when some players killed 16rl for one map, and we did not do nothing, just was trying to play better.

Yes 3b had a bad reputation with ghosting, and we are apologizing for it.
But i ask to give our team another chance. It was fucking mistake. Delitel is
very kind man and could not refuse from fucking request from f#$@^ VVD.

Irvin: after the last incident with a fake player getting banned del knew exactly what he was getting into when faking with you. If a player cant resist his so called friends (if they are friends asking you to play with them risking getting banned) its his call and he gets banned.
