Div 1 coverage issue 1

NOTICE: This is the old column that you have probably already read already.

QuakeWorld has more lives than the average cat. This game died 5-10 times last year alone (depending on who you talk to), and -- let's be honest here -- it's more than likely to do the same in 2006.

I have been assigned to keep all of you posted on what's going on in Division 1 of EQL (hereinafter referred to simply as "div1") . Firstly, I would like to draw your attention to the clans that will be playing in div1 this season. CMF is back. So is Lege Artis. So is GTG. So is tVS. In short, div1 looks pretty damn good this season. Most of these clans and players really need no introduction, but Horatio wrote roughly 3000 words on Division 2 so I can't very well turn in 50. My predictions are based on the assumption that all clans play all of their matches. In no particular order:

AntiQuad
Strengths: AntiQuad has Lohjan Dag.
Weaknesses: AntiQuad does not let Lohjan Dag run quads in important semifinal games.

My prediction: Mid-table.

Death Team
Strengths: ParadokS and javve have the potential to make a huge impact this season.
Weaknesses: Game-to-game performance. Can DT hold it together for the whole season?

My prediction: Mid-table.

Griffins Tappra Gossar
Strengths: GTG at it's best is like a well-oiled machine. Much will depend on the performance of griffin and mrlame.
Weaknesses: If griffin and mrlame don't play, GTG is in trouble.

My prediction: Top 6.

Easy To Kill
Strengths: Self-confidence comes to mind.
Weaknesses: 3tk don't have a div1 line-up. Yes I totally went there.

My prediction: Bottom of the table.

Clan MalFunction
Strengths: Many.
Weaknesses: Few.

My prediction: Top 6.

LegeArtis
Strengths: Dag can destroy any clan if he should so choose.
Weaknesses: Activity.

My prediction: Top 6.

the Viper Squad
Strengths: They play like they have a hive mind, it's scary at times.
Weaknesses: Activity.

My prediction: Top 6.

Leftovers
Strengths: A solid line-up.
Weaknesses: Not enough star players.

My prediction: Mid-table.

Firing Squad
Strengths: Skilled players, great tp.
Weaknesses: Few.

My prediction: Top 6.

Fragomatic
Strengths: Skilled players, great tp.
Weaknesses: Few.

My prediction: Top 6.

Suddendeath
Strengths: Nice guys and very active.
Weaknesses: Not the strongest line-up, especially since striker left.

My prediction: Bottom of the table.
