Division 1: Week 1

It's Monday so I guess I'll write about the first week in Division 1. First, some stuff I picked up spectating practice games along the week:

- tVS are getting stronger by the day and once mirage and maga return and get some games in they will be the team to beat.
- Lege Artis were spotted on a server with some Russians and a Dane. It appeared to be a game of tag and the Russian side was "it".
- 3tk are going to have a tough time this season.
- AntiQuad aren't looking half bad, especially Harvester and Nussi seem to be in shape.
- Firing Squad remain stranded at the Swiss alps where they held a private lan/training camp. They will take EQL by storm once reppie finds his snow shoes.
- GTG played some games and neither griffin nor mrlame look too out of shape.
- That's it.

As for actual league games, only one has been played thus far: cMF versus SD. The game started off with a dm2 in which SuddenDeath got "fullen" and proceeded to dominate the early moments of the match. Shortly after, siv decided he's had enough and disconnected his computer from the Internet. Since the game had been going on for a good 3 or so minutes, everybody kept playing and expected siv to return, which he also did. He returned not once but several times, bringing his grand total of time spent on the server to about 5 minutes by the end of the round. A short debate followed in which cMF demanded that the map be replayed and SD resisted. After a short discussion sassa showed great sportsmanship and agreed to a rematch.

So, dm2 once again. This time the start of the map favored cMF, and they very quickly started building up a lead. SuddenDeath fought back valiantly, but cMF's skilled quadrunners picked off their rocket launchers with surgical precision. At the end, cMF won the map quite easily with fix racking up an impressive 76 frags.

The second map was e1m2. Even though The Castle of Angua did not get a new ruler just yet, cMF certainly got a lesson in team play. SD were very impressive on this map, especially when playing "off the ball" (without armor or a decent weapon). They flooded cMF's rocket launchers like maniacs, provided barriers of meat for their own to hide behind, and were just a big pain in the ass for cMF. This brought them the map win.

To be honest, I don't remember that much about the 3rd map. It was dm3, cMF had control for the first half and SD for the second half. At 18:00 or so cMF saw that the game was won and decided to hit the sauna.

The only one resisting to play dm2 again was sassa :) But the other 3 in sd voted for dm2 one more time and got ready!
