I came back to the QuakeWorld scene in late September 2005, by then I have had a break for about 2 and a half years, now I never was I great Quake player, I never expected to be big, but to come to something that was so thorned apart that the QW scene had turned into was just terrible. NQR wasn't up, QuakeWorld.nu wasn't up. After a month of thinking I founded the EQL, I had some intentions, I wanted to bring back the life to QuakeWorld. EQL got the motto: Keep QW Alive, I think before anyone else joined up with the team I had allready got 40 interested clans. I needed a webpage, ?ke_Vader was a big addition for me when he took on the mission, as soon as Sassa saw how big this got just in a few days he pm:ed me as well - and thank god for it. After the half season of EQL1 has passed I found by self in the same place I were 2 years ago, very bored of the game and lots of other things to do, so I quitted.

I wanted EQL to keep going so I gave ?ke and Sassa full command over it, Im here now and then checking things out, but I dont have much time.

The thought of EQL
I wanted a leauge where clans got rewarded by getting up in divisions for playing good, like in sports, I wanted a leauge where everything wasn't about Div1.

The intention of EQL
To get the old guys and new guys to continue play Quake

Did I succeed? I think I did. In fact, I think that everyone succeeded, and today Im seeing very old players again, QW is alive once more.

Flame me as much as you want to, but this is my opinion.

Thank you very much for the initiative which triggered the comeback of quake, zanne. More people like you are needed, even if its just a minor contribution to the scene - makes a great difference.

There's people who whine and talk, but thank god there's also few dudes who get their hands dirty and make everything happen. QW didn't make itself big, it was the guys like Zanne who did it.

I sat here at work, i gotta nemtion that without ?ke_Vader & Sassa this would never have been possible, everyone that have been engaged within EQL including some other people that arn't nemtioned anywhere have been great. Thank you!
