Season 6 signups open

The moment has finally come! Tonight the signups for the next season of EQL are open. Get your mates together and prepare yourself for the upcoming, action packed season. As you may have noticed in the forum, we have a few things left to decide when it comes to rules and so on.

I have finally managed to put together a site that i consider presentable. I'm not artist but i hope the color theme (hello Quake 4!) is satisfying. You can all thank Bps for the logo, which has grown a bit but still maintains it's characteristics.

What's done in the preparations for this season so far is that the admins will be those in the list below:

Åke Vader
Sassa
Highlander
Itsinen (new face in the crew, welcome!)
Premortem
Term

We aren't quite sure how active the few of us will be, so we might need reinforcements in the crew this season. Feel free to volunteer by contacting someone in the crew in our IRC channel #eql.qw on Quakenet. Besides volunteering as an admin, you can of course apply for a column on the site which shouldn't be much of a problem to get. I removed the previous columnists so that you wouldn't feel pressured to write again, but if you feel up for it this season aswell, then you are very much welcome to get your column back. Also, even if you just want to follow the action in EQL, you are of course allowed to hang around in our IRC channel just to have a chat of course.

Other things that aren't quite done yet are certain decisions concerning the rules. I would have liked to see this settled already before the signups, but it's been too little time for that. Anyway, the problem is that as the ezQuake development has kept on going, we now face a couple of pleasant issues to deal with - whether to include these new features or not. I have made a post about this in our forum which i urge everyone to read and express their opinion so that we in the crew later on can make a decent decision on the matter.

The last point i thought i'd bring up in this small update is the one about the rookie division. Itsinen has taken on the project to divide all the rookies into several teams that will participate in EQL. For now the division name is Division 50, but if you have a better name then please say so in the comments. I was about to name it "Rookie division", but thought it sounded a bit boring.

That's the status for now and feel free to sign up your team and members for this action packed league. I will try to sort out the rule issues with the other members in the crew as soon as possible so you know what kind of league you are signing up for. Changes that might happen shouldn't be too drastic though. Hopefully we will see Quakeworld take a few steps up the ladder this season with ezTV getting ready for some serious action, loads of rookies playing for the first time and maybe even some sponsors deciding to support the league. Who knows what we may have in store for you...

Am i the only one having trouble logging in when browsing the site through www.eql.nu?

If you login but immediately get logged out again when you choose an option in the team menu, then login via http://eql.quakeworld.nu instead until things get sorted out. :\

we will add all teams that have been approved to div1 just for now until we sort them out and put them in their correct division, if your team has not been approved, its because you havent added enough players!

Therefor, check Div1 section to see if your team have been approved or not!
