Don't worry Marshall. In a year you agree with me ;P

Kwibus: sounds like fun :)
And thanks for the high expectations lol

Ncr:
I was about to play some games with la! 2 weeks ago as an
trainee, but my microphone didnt seem to work and as they
use mm3 that pretty much cancelled the practise game for
me.
Which was no problem, coz I quickly noticed that I had
nothing to do in this team. Im more a player for the low
divisions who is semi active and just wants to play some
games to have some fun.
I predict these guys to be in div3 atleast after next
season. They got the raw talent for it and if they keep the
activity they will for sure.
They remind me of vvv about 2-3 years ago. They also went to
div2 in 3 seasons from div5. Unfortunately they lost
activity and dissapeared.
Anyways, I havent told them afterwards, but I dont have that
ambition. I just wanted to hang in div5/4 with some mm2 clan
and play some games ;)

Indeed ncr, it was boggling my mind as well. Normally when
we get control on dm2 we find ourselves with 3 people on
low, while noone has tele. Luckily this time we kept the
tele part and left low alone exept for some runs in
between.
Btw i like your writing style, no wine, just sportmanship
and a nice read.

Defcon 5:
No, if you ask me the line-ups weren't fully streamlined. If
we'd been able to, we'd have made adjustments regarding all
maps, I think. The only thing that I'm 100 % sure was in the
right place is that ekz played all three maps. He was
clearly the star on our half of the field.
marshall:
You shouldn't be sorry -- we were pestering you to play,
remember? ;) We were quite simply too hungry to realise that
the prerequisits were lacking. And this is not to say that
we would have won hands down or even at all if we had
optimised our line-ups, if I wouldn't have had ~10 % PL and
if we would have been warmed-up. That's not what I'm trying
to say. Chances are you'd beat us anyway, because you're
simply not bad. Granted, some luck is involved in the DM2
start in particular, but you played the map by the book from
there. I think that is what boggled our minds the most, and
I'm sure it's what boggles my mind the most. Your DM2 blew
us away.

Nice write-up ncr, i really agree with all your points and
i'm sorry we choose such a bad day (for you) to play against
you :)
Great game overall and i'm really looking forward to the
final scores in div5, even the most potential clans in div5
can still end up anywhere from place 1-6 :)
Thanks for the compliments as well, after some adjusting to
eachother inside the clan, getting a nice lineup and winning
this important match i think we're finally on the right
path.

hey AV did you play in full lineup ??
#5 2007-10-25 11:55 by ncr (130.243.208.XXX)
Jaded by their swift progress through this season's fifth
division of the EQL, la! knew to be quick to ask us about
our map. After a discussion that took longer than should
have been necessary (sorry, la!), we decided on E1M2. This
turned out to be a good choice. The first half of the map
was even, with advantage shifting quickly and continuously.
Then we came into it for real and seized the map. We lost
control for the last few minutes though and la! was able to
tidy the numbers up somewhat in their favour.
DM3 is what we would believe to be our weakest map. We have
no interest whatsoever in RA. We have just recently learnt
that there is a pent outside where you fetch the mega every
once in a while. Consequently, we like to take it. It feels
"naughty" and kind of forbidden. The game against
la! on this map was extremely even. A cavalcade of bad to
mediocre playing over all, but I was pleasantly surprised at
how well things were going. We took control at the very end,
maybe in the 18th minute or so. It was close, but their
hiding techniques proved superior to our intercepting
skills.
We knew they'd be good on DM2. A recent practice game came
out very close, I think in our favour. We did indeed rape
them on DM2 when we played them the first time, but that was
during a time when they employed a bizarre habit of never
topping their team -- maybe om their full potential te
verstoppen. This time around, they played with a topped
team, got one of the fullest starts I've ever had the
pleasure to give away (I personally saw to it not to reach
low RL in time at 00.01) and had practiced quite assidiously
for a few months. One can only state that we should have
practiced as much during season as during summer.
Also, I think we'll be more thoughtful regarding the
circumstances of future EQL games. We'd been hungring for an
EQL game (and pretty much for a game at all) for about three
weeks when finally, AV having had no warmup and lacking a
key player due to computer malfunction, and my connexion
being in its shittiest, most PL-ridden state, la! after a
somewhat lengthy internal discussion finally kindly agreed
to play us that god-forsaken tuesday -- and thus we
naggingly achieved one of our most inelegant defeats
ever.
However, nothing bad that doesn't bring something good with
it. I hope this defeat against la! will bring us back down
to earth in some people's eyes so that they'll have the
fortitude to play a few pracs against us again. It's been
tiresome to be turned down by some clans when we've been
looking for prac (as well as occassionally while looking for
an EQL game) because they've thought us to be "too
good". Thank god for CSN, eQ, Osams, CMT and the other
clans in division 4. It has sometimes seemed that when
you're div 5 and want someone to play, this is the place to
look -- which is strange, considering the immense EQL
activity in division 5 on paper.
Having said all this, one cannot escape the fact that what
la! is on their way of achieving, and, regardless of the
final outcome of the division, indeed what they have already
achieved, is one of the most impressive rates of progression
I've ever come across. They were a completely new team in
the beginning of this season, and we quickly counted them
out. Never would I have expected them or indeed anyone to
come this far in such a short time. They have learnt a great
deal to say the least, and their determination and endurance
is admirable. This tuesday, it earned them the group game
victory over what some people have talked of as a favourite
clan in division 5 this season, and a clan that is playing
its second season in the division and in the EQL in
general.
I hope that now that the Game has finally been played we'll
be able to play many a practice game with la!. They're a
good match and as such a valuable resource. Remains to
congratulate them on the victory and wish them good luck in
the remaining games.
Hats off to Limbs Away! and see you in the play-offs. ;)
Note: I hope I don't come across as a whiner in the above
text. The text is aimed to convey my feelings about the game
and the difficulties sometimes associated with getting
practice games, and while I really want to ventilate those,
I would never want to point fingers, stir up drama or cause
schisms.

:) fucking nice match :)
started with the feeling it wasnt going to end in a win.
First off e1m2, we knew this was probly going to be a loss.
Altho we had a few good quad runs that could turn the game.
But AV was just a bit too good at the end.
Dm3 was the map we picked and knew we were going to win.
Altho it was very close at the end. i never had the idea we
were about to loose.
Then the last map was ofc dm2. In 1 off our first pracs as a
clan we played AV, and got raped. Meanwhile by now we had
pracced it alot, especially against div4 clans. But still my
memory was how good AV was on dm2. We started and had the
fullest start we could wish for. Both rl's and quad. After 3
mins it was like 50-3 or so and then luke said something
like "Hey guys, we totally raping them" So then it
was all focus for the win.
It was a really exciting game, hopefully AV thinks the same
about this. I dont have to wish them goodluck, cause they
know they're good enough to win most of the matches
skill-wise :)
Peace

It was gg. Sometimes you love dm2, and sometimes you just
hate it. Yesterday I wanted to flush the friggin' map down
the toilet ;)

believe*
I think we played pretty good on E1M2. I was expecting us to
be completely raped on that map as we haven't pracced on
that map as much as the others. We did pretty good though
and it was fairly tight throughout the game. AV pulled
through towards the end though and won by quite a margin.
Dm3 was really tight.
For me it felt like I was just running around looking for a
weapon the entire map. It felt like we were in control of RA
and Quad most of the game. AV got all pentas though and
managed to get quite a few frags and didn't give many
away.
Around 17-18mins I think AV started to get a grip of the map
and getting in control. At about 19 we started hiding and
slowspawning trying to secure the win, which we did! yay.
On Dm2 we got a fullspawn and pretty much kept it that way
throughout the entire game. If AV ever got in control of
tele/ng area it was for a very short time.
Very pleased with our performance on dm2, I thought it'd be
tighter for sure!
