"the teams from the same divisions brings the points from their previous game
they've had this season. That only makes you have to play two matches versus the
clans in the other division."
Horrible, madness and insanity. Just trow a dice and we're done with it. That a
game two months ago should matter in a playoff really sucks. But no point
arguing more, nobody will listen anyways.

not that i care about qualifiers or it's rules, but i agree siik.
#4 2005-12-08 20:12 by [DC]panczo
agree siikah too
#5 2005-12-09 12:28 by gppo
couldnt agree more with siikah, never heard of such a stupid rule. whats the
point in getting better if a game played 2 months ago still counts in a playoff,
with no chance to revenge?
what are you thinking (with) ?
#6 2005-12-09 13:23 by gaz
The rule only makes sense if they make it clear before the season starts that
the games played in regular season could be used in the playoffs as well. I
don't remember whether the admins made this clear or not - if they did then
you've got nothing to complain about :P The rule itself is not stupid IMO, just
whether or not the clans are aware of it in time.
#7 2005-12-09 13:44 by siikah
gaz: What is NOT stupid about this rule?
It doesn't matter if I would have known this the last couple of years, it's
still a bad idea.
It makes an assuption that clans won't try to improve themselves during the
regular season. And if they do - this rule will still put them at disadvantage
in the playoff.
By coincidence I happen to play in a clan which had this particular game during
the second week, of course this makes it matter more to me... As with low-div3,
they hadn't even played the game so for them it didn't matter, only made them
need to play three games instead of two the playoff week.

What's NOT stupid about this rule is that it rewards clans who did well during
the regular season, which is as it should be.
Personally I can't stand playoff systems where the teams that were
consistently the best across the season have all their hard work taken away and
some team that just scraped into the playoffs gets lucky in a one-off match and
earns promotion.
#9 2005-12-10 15:40 by siikah
Good point HangTime, but this system doesn't reward clans who did good the
entire season, it rewards them depending on the outcome of _one_ randomly
selected game (although the clan must gather enough points to make it to the
playoffs - as it should be). A league should be entirely without playoffs or
with playoffs where the starting point is the same for all clans.
To choose between this system and no playoffs I'd pick the later one.

Just from curious i checked div3 qualifiers and i wasnt suprised to see that
siikah clan lost their game 0:2 with another qualifier from their div ;)
#11 2005-12-10 21:05 by dje
sherlock fucking slabiutiki holmes, that was exactly siikahs point. they lost a
game early in the season and would probably do a better game today if they had
the chance to, which they don't.
#12 2005-12-10 22:24 by siikah
Wake up slabiutki. I wrote that in an earlier post. If this wouldn't have
happened to any clan there would have been nothing to argue about.

Let's make someone get the Smackdown tourney back, then everyone will be happy!
\o/
#14 2005-12-11 22:49 by siikah
We've won both our qualification games and we're still under the bar.
Hooraaay...
#15 2005-12-11 22:59 by pepin
that is really lol. It's a really stupid system if u cant qualify even if u win
both matches :)
#16 2005-12-11 23:00 by thx
Yes, awesome rule. There was no reason for dqm to even play the qualifications,
won both matches and still can't win :)
#17 2005-12-13 13:02 by mli
The current point system sucks. Winning 2-0 should give 3 points if losing 2-1
gives one point. If winning 2-0 only gives two points then losing 2-1 should
give no points at all.
#18 2005-12-13 14:19 by ?ke Vader
Good point (ghahahaha), i've thought about the scoring system too and maybe it
needs polishing...
#19 2005-12-13 15:35 by gaz
I've been saying that for weeks mli...
#20 2005-12-14 22:43 by dje
omg awesome, i love that you won both games dqm and still didnt make it. its
like the perfect ending to all of this :)
