Sweden not even second this year

2009-11-08 01:09 by zappater

This year has a lot of old school players returning to the scene like Vladde, Nabbe and Valla and the return of teams like f0m and FS. At the same time we also have teams who have done well recently like SD and and a merge of 3B and NO in USSR making this the strongest and most competitive season of EQL in a while. There is no doubt that every team in Division 1 will face some tough competition this year, including tVS. Continue reading for some predictions and thoughts on why things will go this way.

1st The Viper Squad
Line-up: blAze, Xantom, Milton, Ihminen, Diki
There isn't much to talk about when it comes to tVS, they have dominated for almost two years now without any team being able to challenge them. With a stable line-up of only five but very active players tVS is sure to take first place this season.

2nd Slackers
Line-up: zero, purity, murdoc, mja, krab, dimman, TheEvilDog, ParadokS
I first doubted their ability to place top three, with some teams making sure to get good at Kenya. However, according to [tVS]blAze they have got very good at the Kenya maps and play overall a stable game so while I doubt their ability to take on tVS they should be able to beat all other teams thanks to having been active for a long time combined with a lot of experience.

3rd USSR
Line-up: zepp, xpr, unnamed, gor, glad, B1aze
A team consisting of remnants from No Pasaran and Bear Beer Balalaika this team will no doubt do well this EQL, specially considering 3B was able to take a map from tVS last season. Not only do they have great players but also a positive attitude to Kenya which should give them a few free map wins against teams like Fragomatic and Suddendeath who might not be as well versed on the new maps.

4th Fragomatic
Line-up: lacsap, valla, riker, nabbe, inferno
Consisting of several old f0m and LA members this team has all the talent needed to win this season but it is still unsure how rusty they are and if they will be active enough to get in shape. In my opinion this team can end up on either side of the bracket, depending on their activity. Because of this I predict them to come fourth as I believe they will remain in a semi-active state similar to CMF the last few seasons.

5th Suddendeath
Line-up: vladde, molecule, grisling, bps, arnette
With a small and individually skilled team the only thing SD needs is the time to get their team-play going and they will be able to challenge top three. However, I doubt they will be able to get their team-play to work perfectly before its too late, also not having the most positive attitude towards Kenya won't help.

6th Firing Squad
Line-up: spoink, reppie, razor, mawe, mae, lakso, keyser, goblin, 1-2-3
A team filled with skilled and experienced players their biggest problem is inactivity. It was clear before the season started that a lot of their players would not be able to play as actively as they had the season before, combine this with a big line-up and they will have an even harder time to get their team-play going than SD.

7th Enigma
Line-up: votary, vizer, mazer, kingpin, hlt
While Enigma has a small team with a few very good and experienced players I am afraid this team will fail due to their less experienced members. However having a small line-up they should be able to make up for this a bit but they might just as well place last. Also not having the best attitude to Kenya, this season will be a struggle from start to finish.

8th Fusion
Line-up: tom, slabi, skillah, serox , rikoll, moltas, desmo, blsp
While this team is very eager and has a stable line-up with some good team-play established they lack the experience most of the teams have. Also with a few new additions the team has got rather large and it might be negative for them as it might remove some of their team-play while not contributing a lot.

Hmm, there are many swedes in the top teams, it's not QNC. :P Our success would not be possible without our swedish reinforcement. :)
