Hello new and old friends of the qw community. I am back again to bring you up to speed with this seasons div4 clans.
Div4 looks really interesting this time around with alot of clans battling
for the top spots.

The maps

For this season the clans in div4 have voted to play tb3, cmt3 and cmt4,
this will ofcourse have a greater impact on some of the clans than the others. For example Morituri are somewhat cmt4
specialists. Other clans and players (including myself) are happy to play the good old tb3. But i guess it will be fun anyway.


The teams


Division 4

Bear Beer Balalaika
This russian team seems to consist of some players from the dismantled NNM clan but also some other players from the russian qw community. We (csn) recently pracced vs these guys with the result 2-1 in our favor. They made a strong effort to clinch the last map wich was dm2 while we comfortably won dm3 and e1m2.
However they didnt field CDM and Bagz who imo are two of their best players. I foresee them to end up somewhere in the middle of div4 and they will probably not make many upsets against the stronger teams here.


Chosen
Here we are again in div4 for the 4th season in a row. We have not quite been able to win those important games that would have sent us up to div3. This time around we have recruited Flamer and Greendog who should add some power on our weaker maps. I wont tell you guys wich tho. On the other hand it seems like Kalma is away on some mission away from qw and we are still awaiting his return. As for the standings my bet is that csn will end up in atleast top5 depending on the lineup and daily form. If we play like we did vs dqm the other night (17/9) we will be a feared force on the battlefield.


Dies Ater
These germans have a pretty strong lineup and i was somewhat surprised
to see them in div4. However i havent seen them prac too much or ask for pracs through the serveme bot. I bet they will need a few games before they can use their full capacity as div3 contender and their early opponents should be able to capitalize on this. Later in the season i think they will win most of their games and end up near or even in the top spot.


Dybbuk
German clan number two in div4 are my old friends from dybbuk. Last season i tipped them to be top team in div4. Maybe that was a bit too much positive thinking. For the first time in an official game my own team beat them after 4 straight losses through the years. They told me so and they also proved me wrong about the top3 spot by not playing that good. Fox and Tuna will be their go to guys as usual and i think they will conquer a spot in the lower parts this time. Watch out for Fox on dm2 where he is a madman running those quads.


Laxtrappans Hj?ltar
These guys consists of new and old players from sweden some of them dating
back to 1998 in the qw scene. For xample Hect played for old swedish clan sTc with players like Wigorf and MAsochist. Also onix has some hpw experince from the famous swedish clan qqc where alot of good players started out their qw career.
Laxtrappan are fairly good on all of the tb3 maps and especially on e1m2 where
hustak dominates. I havent seen them play any cmt maps so they are in the dark there atleast from my pov. They will be a contender for the top spots for sure
after having recruited past who is also a good player.

Morituri
Last season they recruited serox and there was a kinda big outrage against this. Now they havent got him in their lineup and this will make them a little more
even with the rest of the div4 teams. While they are from the uk they are sure
to be cmt4 specialists since this is an old uk map. They are also strong on dm2
while a little weaker on dm3 and e1m2. Ad for cmt3 i havent seen them enough to
make a judgement about their skill there. Even though they lack serox this time
they are a strong team and i would be surprised if they didnt end this season near the top. They have had some problems in the past with fielding their best lineup and if this continues it will stir up some problems for them vs the better clans.


Oldones
Another bunch of middle skilled players making a rather good team. I have played vs oldones alot and they are pretty strong on all the maps of tb3.Allthough beeing good at all three maps I would say that dm2 is their strongest card and e1m2 is their weakest. This would make them a feared enemy. On a sidenot they seem to have re-recruited vertigo who played with them for a while before. This ofcourse has some positive impact on their teamplay. They will score fairly many points and end up somewhere in the middle.


Olw
The old swedish clan olw won bronze cup in nqr last time they where active.
They have pretty much the same lineup now as then with a big exception; Elgen/Farsan. He was their best player back then and since he is not playing anymore i guess it is up to pyta to step in his shoes now. The other guys are also pretty good but all of them lack match training. If/when lagge gets his connection he will be a good addition to their lineup. Some might say that they should have been placed in div5, sure maybe the first 1-3 games they are div5 but after that they would have raped the entire div to pieces. Div4 will be hard on them but if they keep it up and dont fold after the first games they will make a strong finnish and keep away from the bottom positions. My tip is a mid div place for olw.


Psychohaloons Crew
Shotgan trick is back! The mighty poles have usually been a div3 clan but since
they have been inactvie for a while i think div4 suits them fine. My own personal history vs these guys date back all the way to nqr5 if i am correct where my clan lost to them in the beginning of the season. As beeing poles they are strong on dm2 offcourse and a little weaker on e1m2. Their old lineup seems intact with only camel missing since he went to several different clans but ended up in DC in div3. Since the crew havent played in a while i think they will have a slow start like olw and later in the season strike back some and earning some points.


Scitec Nutrition
This hungarian team is not very well known to me but it seems like stevens are
playing here judging by their email contact. He has played for some fairly good hungarian teams before and this could very well be the darkhorse of div4. On the other hand they could be pretty bad also and end up near the bottom here. If anyone has some extra info then please share it in the comments section below.


Smackthatass
Third clan in div4 consisting of mostly germans. These guys have been around for a while and lately they have acquired knast from oldones. I have pracced these guys a few times and allthough they werent that hard to beat i still would like to raise a warning here since they can field a pretty strong lineup with knast, anni, smerz and pulp. Sta seems to be most familiar with dm2 and dm3 and i havent seen them play much on the cmt maps. On e1m2 on the other hand they have a little more problems focusing on the so important ya/gl area. This is also a mid div contender.


Suddendeath Project
Sd.p have been a div4 clan for some time now but have lacked the power to proceed to div3. This season they have two new players in xero and und from wunderbar and before that in j?garna. This will surely improve their power on all maps no matter what since xero is a stable div3 player and the other 3 can back him up as he tries to run quads.
As always in the lower divisions its about fielding the best lineup and have some luck. My bet is that sd.p will end up in the middle as usual since there are a few teams that are stronger than them in this div.


The outcasts
This team has some interesting players from back in the day when qw was young and we are all eager to see what they can do in div4. Since The Gibbers folded recently three players from them have joined the outcasts. Time will tell if that was a good or a bad move since it can be hard to make new and old members play good together. Also this clan has some differences in skill and it is all up to their lineup if they will score points or not. Their best lineup would be azzid crewl lethalwiz and desmo but i dont know if they are all active.

mae pointed out to me something i havent thought about. calling div4 players great, good and so on might be confusing for guys who play in div1-3.
but then again, i am not comparing these guys with players in any other division i am only focusing on these teams and thus some players can be stars and very good in their own division

yeah we have been div4 all the time when u guys were div5, so i dont really understand what you are getting at?

anyway, peppe seems to have some personal issues with me and thats 100% his own problem :)

yeah peppe, maybe you arent a div4 team after all? is that what you are trying to say?
anyway you have never been div3 thats for sure. and why do you compare your clan with csn _all_ the time? arent there plenty of other clans you could compare with?

i think peppe need to play more qw and comment less on this and that 8)

that could also mean that i think that sd.p has been a div4 clan, not necesarily IN div4 for a long time...

and besides 6-7 months is quite a long time in qw no matter what point you are trying to make here 8)

I don't always compare us with csn, where have you gotten that idea?
agree on the final placements tho, maybe not laxtrappan and morituri so high though :)
and sTa will probably reach higher than 11th

Not to be picky, but the last i can see from olw in NQR was in NQR7 division 3A where they didn't qualify for the playoff?

yeah Ake, that was the season after the bronze cup win, had forgotten about that.
we couldnt follow up the previous season and fell short of the playoff line :P

(seems like i did a nice season with 45.5 frags per map tho hehe)

yes, olw didnt do very well in the season

and well, since olw didnt go inactive after the bronze cup win but rather after the next season, i was correct to say that olw won bronze cup last time they where active... :)

csn is very strong in dm2/cmt4(depends on the lineup) and beatable in dm3.

That happens when u tell other clans our weakness!:P

oh my.. i hope we can do at least a few places better. but indeed we feel very very rusty at the moment and the other seem to become better and better all the time. handicap anyone? :-)
