Division 3 - Preview

2006-09-19 21:13 by Racersnigeln

Ah, here we are. Finally another season of the famous EQL. This year it's more about who can fake the best to make it to the top in division 3. It's way more fun to own a whole season flawless than to be a middle fish in one division up.

We got 8 new teams in Divison 3 compared to last season. The only veterans in division 3 are Apocalypse 2000, JUGS and Clan mega troopers(known as Clan Metally Troopers in EQL3). Some teams have left for a higher div and some have tagged along from a lower division. Allthough we got a few new clans to look into. We got v?xjo and Rebellion of Thunder. It's now 14 teams in div3, last season was there nine teams. Now, I think that this will make it much more tense. We will get more thrilling games, more hate and more ping/death/lol/kurwa/luckwhine. Isn't it lovely? Now, to begin with the closer look on each clan and finally a prediction from my side, I just want to say that it's very
nice to see that we got more teams in division three than the previous season.

From the top and down, let the flaming begin:

Apocalypse 2000:
Last season a2k won div three. This season they have changed their lineup. They have ten players signedup this season, compared to 18 last season. Additions in this season are bob, together with a2k2 stars lib, bent and torre. Compared to last season this is a weaker lineup. Allthough 50% of their last lineup were inactive, so it doesn't makes that much of a difference. They havn't played that much during the summer as far as I know, so they still need to work on their teamplay if they are going to finnish high in this division. I think that much of this team will depend on some spectucular independent performance, mainly by Adde.
I don't think they'll make it to the top as the last season, counting their current skills.

Baconmen:
Ah, the Baconmen, who won Divison 4A last season. I know, from my own experience that Baconmen really can play quake when they are on fire. They don't just have some kurwaluck, they can play quake. And their addition this season(late addition last season) is the former GTG-star apokalypze will help them. But, yes, here are the but, their play is based on superstar's, I mean Rockstar's(mawe), skills. Without mawe they won't make it far. Mawe is like SSC's milton. If he is playing, they reach the top, but without him they are nothing but a low div three team.

Bad Luck Troopers:
Bad Luck Troopers didn't participate in the previous season. If we compare their lineup they have now against their lineup in EQL2, ops, no participation there either, how about EQL1? Nope, not there either. This new team don't have the experience of playing much together, and therefor they won't make it far. But they might surprise, in a game like quakeworld, even after ten years people can still surprise.

Clan mega Troopers:
Clan mega Troopers without mega? Last year they ended up on second place in division three and that was with mega. mega is not the only change they have made. They have almost wiped out all of their team they had the last season and just added one player: ZarroW. Is he some super h!O!t div0 player? I must say that I think this team is better then they
lead on, but still they seem to have problems. To be honest, I don't really know why. I havn't really been impressed watching them play. I don't think they will make it better then a low place or divisions middle based on their current skills and players.

Da Quaking Manjakks:
They ended up on second place, Divison 4 previous season. Their additions is Elguapo and the hotshot Jerp, know as frans in EQL2. In a divions that is as even as this one, you have to perform the best you have to be able to get any points. I know DQM COULD perform good with their former roster, in EQL3. I don't think that DQM has that much to put up against rest of the teams in div3. Even if they perform their best I don't think it will be enough to win that much. I havn't seen Jerp playing, maybe he is their secret quad weapon who will smight his mighty wrath upon this div and make DQM go all the way? Elguapo can play quite nice too, allthough he is a rookie within 4on4. It will be fun to see how they will manage in this division.

Demolition Crew:
The polish Demolition Crew has something to proove this season. Last season they ended up on seventh place in div3. They have added Camel to their lignup, and Pool has lost one l since last season. I believe that they want to proove that they are just as good as everyone else, perhaps even better. I hardly see DC whine about ping or anything other, a bunch of nice polish guys. But the nice polish guys can even become this seasons kurwa guys if they keep on praccing. These guys have the skill, but will they develope the teamplay before it's too late?

Easy To Kill:
3TK have been in div2, then up to div1, back to div2, and now finally div3. They ended up last in Div2 last season, and perhaps they want to get back to div2 so much that they will but rape all of div3 and get back to div2 one more time. They havn't made any changes in their roster since last eql, which is a good thing. Slabi and tom are good players, together with son is a strong team. Don't know how they have failed so much to get their clan down to div3, but one thing is for certain, they will not stay for div3 more than this season.

Fraggers United:
Well well well, if it isn't the finnish quake god Anza with his Fraggers United, which for some reason didn't participate in EQL3. We saw them last in Div2 in EQL2. There they finnished up on ninth place. They have made some changes in their roster. Ari, Deca and Tane are FU's additions. They have lost blasta and bamse. It looks like Fraggers United have some good players in their lineup but they will not last long here. Without praccing and without some decent independant h!O!t player, they are just doomed to fail in this division. They need bamse and blasta, but they have turned their backs, so FU is going down.

Hippushnik:
I havn't seen hippushnik play for quite some time. But who needs practice when you got joulukuu? They have added kirppu, wrdo and mingle to their lineup. As all the teams in quakeworld, knowing your teammates style of playing together with a splendid tp is the key to success. Every team has some tp, that's what makes them play together, but only a few teams has that really good and nice teamplay, and hippushnik is not one of those teams. They will depend on Joulukuu to play like a superstar and frag his way to their victory. If only hipp could practice some more, they could be really dangerous, but right now, they are avarage.

JUGS:
I guess we could count JUGS as a new team. They have a completely new lineup. Or do they? What happened to the previous lineup? Are they only a bunch of fakers? Who knows. One thing is for certain though, and that is that this JUGS-team is the same as the previous JUGS team. I'm guessing that they have some teamplay skill along with some tactics on how to make a 4on4 game. So don't let your guard down
for this, new-old JUGS. I haven't seen them prac for a very long time. A pretty inactive clan isn't good, and a clan that doesn't play much won't last long. JUGS is a clan like that.

NoPasaran!:
NoPasaran! has lost their starplayer glAd since the previous season, and this is not good. They ended up on eight place in division 3, EQL3. As certain as all the times before I have written this, inactivity = no victory. If they don't get their spirits up and start playing some mofuckin' quake, they will end up much worse then on position eight.

Rebellion Of Thunder:
Rebellion Of Thunder is a new team this EQL season. They are a bunch of players from all across Europe, from portugal to England. I havn't been able to watch them play any games yet, but I know from
before that nitemare is a good player. He will propably their main man doing quadruns and getting packs to the rest of the crew. But since they are a new team they have a minor disadvantage, if not all the players are hot independant players and can ffa-play through all their games and winning on that, that disadvantage would be the the teamplay. Will be nice to see how they develope throughout this season.

Unidentified Quake Entity:
This team is a new team aswell. They got famous players in their clan, mostly players who were active for one-two years ago or more. The players in this team have been around and know what teamplay is all about. However, due their massive inactivity through the years they may be a bit rusty and easily fooled to make rookie mistakes. s3ns have I seen the most playing mixes getting his teamplay up, and how they can perform as a team, well, it will be quite interesting. We all know that N1eLz was superhot along with FlePser, so it will be very interesting see what this team can bring.

V?xjo:
The last and the third new team this season. Their lineup is a bunch of nonamers except for two players. daizuki, former DQM-superstar and well, to be honest I have no fucking idea what the second guy is doing in a div like this, namely striker. The main man of the ?ber famous Lege Artists' winning streaks. Also known as Juan to his teammates. The main reason this clan was born was that daizuki, along with striker wanted to play with their IRL friends. So, daizuki, the leader, founded the clan and now they are participating in divison 3. Well, daizuki is div2/3, rest of the clan except striker is low div 4. Who cares if you got div4 players playing in div3 when their winning machine striker can win a whole map by himself. Tip, don't give striker a weapon except sg, and for gods sake don't let him take quad. In fact, get your own div1 hot superstarplayer in your very own clan and you might understand how fun it will be for striker and the rest of the guys in this division.

And here is the final results after this season:

1. V?xj?
2. Easy To Kill
------------------------------
3. Baconmen
4. JUGS
------------------------------
5. hippushnik
6. Unidentified Quake Entity
7. Apocalypse 2000
8. Demolition Crew
9. Clan mega Troopers
10. Rebellion of Thunder
11. Fraggers United
12. Da Quaking Manjakks
-------------------------------
13. NoPasaran
14. Bad Luck Troopers

My superxxxlong reply was lost so i'll just post my quick opinions here. I believe Rebellion of thunder will fight for a top 3-4 spot with players like nitemare, splif, vanquish, hedfuk and last but definitely not least Silent Lucidity aka Pericles on their roster.

The core of V?xj? will probably be Striker, Daizuki and Sephy (Striker's brother) who played with Veterans in division 2 of NQR8. Their recent pracs have been quite awful at times though so it's either for Striker/Daizuki to get into top shape and sweep the maps or get the whole clan to pracpracprac.

I also think DC will have a very good season in division 3, also finishing in top 3-4 along with RoT, 3tk and V?xj?. They automatically gain +1 level on DM2 and have really improved it seems.

omg reaperman of -99 is back. get him in shape and you have a top3 div2(!) lineup if you get sephy active (maybe even not required).

#9 2006-09-20 14:37 by daizuki (81.231.123.XXX)

shouldn't previews be done by somone who actually knows something about the division? i see factual errors errors all over the place, why bother writing such an extensive piece when you can't even get it straight?

#10 2006-09-20 14:41 by ToMMe (213.100.17.XXX)

Just for the record, the rest of V?xj? isnt low div 4, we?re low "havent played for a couple of years"-div wich equals to div 12 !

#11 2006-09-20 15:13 by ^ cpe (158.75.214.XXX)

#14 2006-09-20 17:29 by zaiko (213.226.92.XXX)

everyone got their own view
this is raceriis view, and i'm glad someone wrote a div3 preview
will someone challenge him and write their own? =)

#15 2006-09-20 19:58 by willg (213.64.177.XXX)

Only me and moris not on a2k lineup this season. tgm, springs, chad + bob is still a strong team. etc.

#16 2006-09-20 22:32 by gaz (84.12.175.XXX)

Yeah daizuki for one he said that sephy is low div 4... :)

and please racer, JUGS is Clan Paranoids, the old school Hungarian team. Everyone know that was who it was last season, this year they have decided not to use the fakenicks, which is nice. They did very well in division 2 of NQR6 IIRC.

A2K's bob aka 4K^Q50 used to be a top player in the UK, if he can get back to his best then he will be a very useful player indeed in this division.

#17 2006-09-20 22:38 by 1tsinen (62.197.175.XXX)

Still waiting for |-|07 div5 preview :F

#18 2006-09-21 10:07 by Hooraytio (212.214.218.XXX)
