Division 1 update

Here is a short update on what has been going on in division 1.

Division 1 update

So far we have seen 5 games in division 1 involving 8 of its 11 clans. There has been two really one sided games featuring Fraggers United versus The Viper Squad and Suddendeath but this was expected since it was two of the top clans versus one of the weaker ones. I am sure that Fraggers United will be able to do more damage versus most of the other clans in the table.

Oclan came really close to beating Crazy88 on E1M2 as well as Chosen almost did when they played Anza Tappra Gossar. In the end both these games came to a 2-0. It was nice, however, to see that former division 2 clans were not entirely clueless versus division 1 stars. DM3 is still a map that is very hard to win versus the absolute top. Oclan versus Anzas Tappra Gossar will probably turn into a nailbiter come E1M2 time. This will most likely be the make or break game for the A-playoffs berth.

The Viper Squad and Suddendeath still haven’t been tested as both of them only played versus Fraggers United so far, racking up some impressive frag stats. More interesting games will follow when they face off with each other, Crazy88 and Anzas Tappra Gossar.

Crazy88 made use of most of their players when swapping Kingpin and Od between DM3 and E1M2 and they still have Creature up their sleeve to pull out when needed. Their 2-0 win versus Oclan was a promising start and it will be very interesting to see what they can accomplish when facing The Viper Squad and Suddendeath. Fun fact: On DM3 Kingpin scored 94 out of his 95 frags in one streak.

Chosen, being utterly defeated on DM3 by Anzas Tappra Gossar, made a promising push on E1M2 but time ran out for a full takeover leaving them with a 0-2 result versus ATG. However, later the same night they managed to beat Immortals 2-0, a clan that I thought would prove to be too tough for Chosen given their latest recruits. After a roller coaster DM2 Chosen was able to secure the win with a solid performance on E1M2, a map that has been favored by CSN all the way back to its founding year of 2005. Immortals will have to step up their game a little if they want to be a B-playoff contender in this tight division.

We have yet to see a game featuring Demolition Crew, Suddendeath 2 and The Black Ants. Hopefully they can get their teams together and play some games before week 2 has ended.
