Division 2 Update

Here is a look at Division 2 so far.

Division 2 update

I did not write a preview on Division 2 because I didn’t know a lot about the clans. I am familiar with most of the players but they are in several new teams and it would have been a lot of guessing about the outcome. Now that there are some games played it is easier to see where the different clans stand and how things can turn out.

We have seen five games including six clans out of which four clans have played two games each.

Pew Pew Blaster is off to a great start winning both of their games 2-0. First they took on Tactical & Powerful Amigos who turned out to be nothing of the sort, except for Amigos since they have stuck together for some time now. Well, that wasn’t entirely true since TPA only were 3 frags shy of overtime on DM3. After that PPB managed to deny Division Ninety Nine any map wins as they won with a small margin on E1M2 and comfortable DM2 win. Pew Pew Blaster looks like a top team so far but Paras should be able to give them a fight for the throne.

Lost Legion started the season with a 2-1 loss against Paras followed by a 2-0 victory versus Fnu Klan. Lost Legion squeezed in a nice victory versus Paras on E1M2 but they couldn’t follow up on the nice start and fell rather convincingly in the following 2 maps. The game against FNU Klan was one sided to say the least. The FNU players haven’t been active in a long time but the addition of Adde to the FNU lineup helped them get a little bit close versus Lost Legion than they did in the game versus Division Ninety Nine. Lost Legion will probably be one of the top 4 teams in this division.

Division Ninety Nine have also played two games. One really convincing win versus FNU Klan and a good effort against Pew Pew Blaster although they lost this one 2-0. It seems that they are a top 6 team, avoiding the really tough clans in the first round of the playoffs but time will tell. There are a lot of games remaining in this division.

FNU Klan started catastrophically with a crushing defeat against D99 but with the addition of Adde they came closer to a map win versus Lost Legion. With a little more practice I think they will be able to avoid 9th spot in this division.

Paras and Tactical & Powerful Amigos both stand at one played game but with very different outcome. Paras have a strong lineup and won their first game 2-1 against Lost Legion while TPA lost against Pew Pew Blaster. Paras is a top 4 team and TPA will most likely make it to the playoffs albeit in the lower end of the table.

Clan Danube, Froggers and Mob of Oddballs are yet to play a game and I really hope that we will see them in action soon.
