Division and playoff suggestion

If we are left with 9 clans this season I have a suggestion for division and playoff structure.

All 9 clans play in the same division, meeting every clan once. This means that every clan has got 8 games to complete in the group stage. When the season is over all 9 clans are qualified for playoffs.

The clan with the highest point count qualifies directly for the final.

The clan with the second highest point count qualifies directly for one of the two semi finals.

The clans on third through seventh place qualifies directly for a place each in the quarter finals.

The clans in 8th and 9th place meet eachother in a qualification game for the quarter finals.

All regular season games are BO3 and all playoff games are BO5.

Example:

1. Lege Artis
2. Euthanasia
3. Teddybears
4. Swedish Chefs
5. America must die
6. Orkney clan
7. Icon of pain
8. American gangsters
9. Campbusters

Qualification game for quarter finals:
American gangsters vs Campbusters

Quarter finals:
Teddybears vs AG/CB
Swedish Chefs vs Icon of pain
America must die vs Orkney clan

Semi finals:
Euthanasia vs AMD/OC
TB/AG/CB vs SC/IOP

Small final:
E/AMD/OC vs TB/AG/CB/SC/IOP

Grand Final:
Lege Artis vs winner of small final.

Bronze goes to loser of the small final.

This is ofc intended to give all clans atleast 1 playoff game and also avoid the most grim of rapings that would happen if #1 meets #8 in the quarter instead.

1. Better a small scaled EQL than no EQL at all.

2. That being said, the suggestion above is as good as it can be.

3. It would be so much more fun with more teams, so SIGN UP while there is still time.

I see Immortals, Chosen and Lost Legion have 10 and 11 players each. Maybe possible to field Immortals 2, Chosen 2 and Lost Legion 2 teams, like SD have done?

(Then we might even get two divs, so 1 and 2 from same team won't need to play each other.)

There might be slackers and retired players bloating up team rosters, because there is no downside to listing them. I'm pretty sure there is one such shameful individual in Chosen.

Csn have 7-8 active players because of what kalma said. Would be very risky to make two teams out of that. Dunno about imm and ll tho. ;)

Yes, NQL was some sort of short-lived nordic league back in 98-99, I think. There was also NECL, SMO, AFITD, Villains and Heroes, several of them going on at the same time too. 60 clans in NECL. Those were the days.

I think Nordic Quake League became Nordic Quake Rank and then Nations Quake Rank. But I could be mistaken.
