Division and playoffs

Since there hasnt been massive complaints...

... ,or any new clans so far, I have decided to go for the system described in the previous post.

However, should there appear a few clans I will just modify the playoff system accordingly. If 5 or more clans join before the end of Sunday February 9th I will most likely go with 2 divisions instead.

See the sidebar for the finalized division. I will update with fixtures on Sunday evening.

Maybe if there will be one more team we should do two divisions with 5 teams? For example difference between SD and Div99 could be too big. It's top 1 div vs middle 3 div. Loosing like for example 500:10 on DM2 is just waiting for the end of match... Just my opinion.

I'm Div99, and I agree with Hooraytio. Bring on Carapace & Co! Worst case scenario, it'll be a nostalgia trip. When I played in the 90s, 400-10 was not an unusual match score.

Yes, playing vs SD could be interesting in a way. But i'm afraid it will more big defeats, remember that even such a clan like FU lost on DM2 with SD 509:28. So - some games will be tough probably - not only with SD. For me it's not problem, I just wanted to know what other players think on that, I'm not going to whine :)

You need to realise that Div99 will not only lose to SD with big numbers, but also to the mediocre teams. If you're going to lose 400:0 to the mid-skill teams, you're not that motivated to face the best teams in the tournament.

Sure, you can humour yourself by setting a goal of 30 frags or something but it does get old and frustrating pretty fast when it happens on each and every map.

If you've decided you'll loose against SD, why not try alternative tactics to limit the loss? Giving up Quad and camping low RL etc. Appreciate the feel of fragging Carapace, even if he frags you 20 times for you one. Use the game as practice before facing clans that are not that good etc.? Again, bring on SD!

Didnt mean to sound harsch in my first reply but qw has always been like this, really large skill gaps. It has just been hidden during times with more clans and divisions, and when we are left with 9 clans you cant really avoid playing the best ones.

I actually kinda like the US cover...it's so weird to me that the covres are different, yet so similar! I've seen lots of other books where the covres are completely different, but I think its kind of unique that this one has just the slightest differences.
