Oblivion out of EQL3

Oblivion has been kicked out of EQL after getting their second warning.
They have been caught ghosting in their game vs SSC and all of their games will be deleted.
We have been talking about this case for 1 week now to gather all the information and have finally made a decision.

Some info about the ghosting that accured:

Fnosk joined their vent channel not knowing that it was a EQL game and helping his teamm8s during the first map (dm3). I saw/listen to this and took a talk with him in another ventrilo channel to ask him what he was doing and he answered me that it was not EQL, it was pracc.

Directly after he found out that it was a EQL game he told me that he was very sorry about what he did but he didnt knew it was EQL.

Even though he didnt knew, his teammates should have told him to go the fuck out of the vent channel or shut up and not give hints about the enemys.
This is their seccond warning (first warning was given when they played with hagge even though he wasent in their playerlist).

Many teams use mm3 and if you want to be sure that they dont cheat ask an admin to step i,n their vent channel and see how many ppl they got there.

Im very sorry to have lost a team like Obvilion in eql and hope that they will be back for EQL4.

It sounds like fnosk joined part way through the first game and only realised it was EQL when that game was finished. With hindsight, maybe the wisest thing to have done was to tell the opponents and replay that first map again?

Clans getting excluded from a major league in a pretty small community can't be good for QW as a whole. I hope other options were exhausted before this measure was taken.

Another thing is, this kind of thing begins to breed distrust, until people will want admins in both team's voice channels for every game, which isn't very practical.

I'm all for cheerleading on voice in pracs, it makes things fun, a lot more of a social event - congratulating someone on some rnb dance moves, or laughing at quad bores. But the line is there, and it's only your conscience stopping you from crossing it I guess.

I keep hearing brief things about QTV, will that feature a delay like HLTV? That's the only answer I can think of.

emp: if i wouldn't have played the game I WOULDN'T be here arguing for something I knew nothing about. BUT, i was on vent, playing (quite crappy) and made no notice of ghoasting.. but you can check our games the last 4 years on both nqr and eql-site, I think we have a spec in 90% of the games, maybe on our vent-chan cheering or PROBABLY ghoasting for the last 4 years... so zzzzz. anyone who likes can p.m me and have the pass to our vent-chan and drop by anytime to "check" on us or just say a pleasent "hello"...

I noticed that most of our defendants are from osams, a clan that often comes visiting us on vent. Thanks for the support. kram.

well both SD and Oblivion is really nice, its a shame it happends to them, i think both kickouts was harsch, fakenick is serious and having other ppl on vent in EQL game is serious too (and its your responsibility to know if its EQL), but it wasnt a super-serious fakescam, and by judgeing of this it doesnt look like fnosk told anything useful for O? :)
so question is just if we wanna follow the principals with absolutely no discussion, or if wanna simply just let both SD and O back in the leuages, i mean its a tiny community with no money, nice things like that can be done! :) i vote for the later

cheering in pracs is ok, but hm i dunno if its such a good idea to have it in officials, i mean i wouldnt like it at least if i was in the opponent team, maybe ask opponents first is wise :) cause i mean it still can help a tiny little bit if he slips his mouth with something

in nqr we have quite thorough written rules that every clan accept when signing up for the league. The rules make it pretty clear that we take a hard line when it comes to "aliasing/mercing", and also the repercussions of such an act have been clearly listed.

The EQL system however fails to present such rules, so cases such as this result in arbitrary rulings of one or a couple power-seeking admins.

and hm it would just be such a hard time for admins to maintain the rules and to draw the line for what cheering is and what helping out is, is like "come on now guys, take the quad!!" is that cheering or coaching?,

razor: I agree that it might not be ethical correct to have another guy hangin' on vent. I usually hang there with muted mic while speccing, but it's not shown in vent. but I think it's made our mm3 improve.
ex; if I spec nas and he's trying to chase a weak rl-enemy down, I can advice him after the game to take help from he's teammates. this is insted of recording every game (i don't even know how in vent?) and download the demo and playing them as with commentary; that's time that i don't have.

BUT yeah, we wouldn't have to do that in eql-games, and for that fnosk has already apologised, and if we would have won dm3 and ssc had said anything, after the game, or even now, we would definitely replay the game with sassadoks on our vent for the whole game.

hm comeon, EVERY single situation cant be covered?, why did u even have a vote for it then? or even have a channel where it can be discussed :) voting and discussing has to be done in some cases, if this was EQL's teams decision, its just the same as the NQR 's decision about kicking SD

In fact, the only comments I made about SD were 1) questioning Empezar's motives for defending SD but not O (and he gave a good answer, thanks for that btw Empezar) and 2) simply comparing the 2 situations, again in a discussion with Empezar.

I was not slagging off SD, whining about SD or anything like that. I don't know what the hell you are talking about, but please, don't let any kind of facts, rational thought or reasoned argument interfere with your vendetta to just insult and flame me.

And for the record, if Oblivion did ghost, then I fully agree with the decision that the EQL crew made here. However, I simply have serious doubts as to whether it happened, and am questioning the lack of evidence.

I only mentioned SD in comparing the situations were handled, I didn't want to besmirch the name of the clan, or say anything bad about SD, and I believe I didn't do that. I'm sorry if you thought that was the case, but that wasn't my intention.

I've had my disagreements with SD but I don't hold anything against them, I'm sure most of them are pleasant chaps when they're not flaming me and the rest of the NQR crew :)

Why is the focus on the sassa here? After what I understand, they (O) got their second warning after not playing by the rules, and therefore got kicked out.

I can admit that even an oldschool noob like me can think that kicking the team out maybe is a bit hard, but maybe give them some penalty instead.
