GGs and good luck in the playoffs

The mystery of "best team in div 3" has been well and truly resolved by this confrontation from Wednesday night :E

Bloodpunch picked first, and went for DM3 (even though it appears 2nd above). We had been feeling strong on E1M2 and knew that BP had been doing well on DM2, so we went for E1M2 - that hasn't happened very much in Osams' history!

On DM3, steppa got RL and kreuger got pent. Another BP guy got quad/ring. The first 2 RLs didn't really do very much, and the key to an early map lock was that BP timed LG and 3rd/4th RL well and quickly got RA under lockdown. After one of the pents (2nd I think), we had a brief resurgence, but we soon lost RA again and BP continued to lock that side of the map down. The "killed RL" stats tell it all - we had nowhere to go when we got weapons and BP's ruthless aiming nearly always took us down before we could do anything. I personally felt like there was always a BP guy waiting around the next corner whenever I managed to get my hands on anything decent. Exxus locked down YA for the last 5 mins and that helped them increase their lead a bit more, but to be honest they were in total control for most of the map and if it had finished 280-40 it would not have been an unfair reflection of the game.

BP started stronger on E1M2, and once again we witnessed their excellent aiming as Dape and co ran some nice quads and picked off our spawn guys at YA/GL/quad with minimal fuss. We stayed within 50-60 frags and then we got a bit of luck; I was spawning around and telefragged an RL guy at YA, taking his pack in the process. His mate ran in from GL to kill me, but somehow I actually won the fight (a rare event in this match), took YA and then had a personal streak of a few minutes where I got most of my 32 frags :E Thompen (Gorba) made a few nice runs as well and we closed the gap to about 30. Eventually though, our guys at YA ran out of kit and we had to vacate, with BP sneaking in the back way while we were out. And that was pretty much it. The stats tell the story here - we had enough armour and killed enough of their RL guys to do some damage, but we didn't take enough quads and BP timed RL well enough to keep on fragging.

BP are clearly too good for division 3, but I don't begrudge them being placed there - someone has to win it, after all! All of their players have a polished aim that doesn't just say "I'm good at POV", but "I know 4on4 and I know which pixels to shoot in which situations", a mark of true 4on4 experience IMO. Their teamplay is strong too, particularly their timing of weapons and powerups, and in light of this it is no surprise that they have dominated every opponent they have faced this season.

We will go away and prac hard and come back to try and get revenge in the playoffs. GGs! <3

Im just happy to see osams playing this many games again. I never thought it would happen after the team pretty much folded and made small comebacks now and then with 1-4 games per season. Welcome back and I hope you stick around for EQl12! :)

BP made a solid performance this season and it will be interesting to see if any clan can threaten the div3-tvs in the playoffs!
